Welcome!Overeaters Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength, and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others recover from compulsive overeating. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop eating compulsively. There are no dues or fees for OA membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. OA is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization, or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy, neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to abstain from eating compulsively and carry this message of recovery to those who still suffer. For a list of meetings in the greater Pittsburgh area, please call our 24-hour answering service at (412) 765-3004 or check out our GPI Meeting List. If you would like more information about OA, please email us at info@gpioa.org. The Greater Pittsburgh Intergroup of Overeaters Anonymous (GPI) is a clearinghouse through which groups and members can communicate quickly and efficiently for the purpose of OA business. The What Is GPI? flyer explains GPI and what we do in greater detail. Each group affiliated with GPI may elect a member (and alternate) to represent the group at the monthly intergroup meeting. If you've never been to an intergroup meeting before and are thinking of attending, please check out our GPI Orientation Letter. You'll receive a copy of this letter and the pamphlets it references at your first GPI meeting in your GPI Newcomer's Packet. |
